Acceleration seems good too. 125 items at the top level, not too
fast or too slow.
Ok, good feedback.
Another data point, I have a directory nfs mounted that has 1317
artist directories at it's top level (somebody here at work collects
music, ~208 GB or ~43200 mp3's) and I can say that the acceleration
is indeed a good thing. Now it only takes a couple of seconds to get
to pretty much any artist, whereas before browsing that directory
wasn't much fun.

On an unrelated note, it appears that directories that end with "--]"
(eg., [--SINGLES--], [--SOUND EFFECTS--]), are having the trailing
"--]" truncated.

I meant repeat, sorry.

I'm using Win2K and the latest version, and the animation seems
fine to me.
It's very cool (and really can help people with their spatial
orientation as
they browse the file system).
Acceleration seems good too. 125 items at the top level, not too
fast or too
slow.
Ok, good feedback.
The same bug exists where checkidle() doesn't get fired and therefore the
clock doesn't appear however.
Rats, I forgot about that one...

Yeah, it wasn't quite right for me either. Sam's feedback would be

We may have a problem on Windows with the animation. I think the best
select resolution you can get is 100ms - will have to do some more
testing. We may have to spin when there's a timer coming up
in <100ms.

OK, it was a mission but at long last i have cvs installed on my
win2k box and working properly took me 3 hours grrr..., I just
checked in a minor change in OSDetect so we now detect the windows
directory properly - for those of you who have windows installed in a
drive other than c: ... I may have messed up the indenting a bit,
will make sure i am more careful in future ...

The "accelarate" feature will only kick in if you have more than 119
directories/files in your dir, and it only kicks after about

so, basically it keeps the time it takes to browse from first to last

so the short answer is, nothing changed if you have 119 dirs or
less ...

therfore we probably may want to tweek

my ($skip) = 5 - $client->numirrepeats() / 25;
if ($skip < 1) {
